Spring 2019 Appearances: Creole Italian

I’ve had a lot of fun talking to readers at events since the launch of Creole Italian last August, and I’m looking forward to meeting more of you this spring. Here is some information about upcoming dates of book talks and presentations around the topic of Sicilians and Food Culture in New Orleans.

February 14, 2019: (Thursday) “Touring the Spaghetti District: Turn of the Century New Orleans and the Birth of Creole Italian Cuisine,” as part of the Friends of the Cabildo’s Second Thursday lecture series. Location: New Orleans Jazz Museum at the US Mint at 400 Esplanade Avenue. Time: 6pm. Free.

February 25, 2019: (Monday) “Getting Beyond Who Killa da Chief: Reappraising Sicilian Memory in New Orleans.” Location: Barnes & Noble on the campus of LSU, Baton Rouge. Time: 2:30pm. Free

March 21, 2019: (Thursday) “Challenging what You Thought about Sicilian New Orleans,” Location: American Italian Cultural Center, 537 S. Peters Street. Sponsored by the American Italian Renaissance Foundation. Time: 6:30pm Free for AICC members, $10 otherwise. Details.

March 27-31: I’ll be on the program of the Tennessee Williams Festival. Check back here later for more details on exactly where and when as they become available.
